Life on Earth for most human
beings is no picnic. In poor nations, people
struggle to survive another day. In wealthy
states, men and women strap on the cunning
strategies of ego to stay in the race for
money, position and pleasure, while unconsciously
(and often tragically) striving for some
deeper meaning and higher purpose.
When one gazes over
the sea of humanity, it becomes evident that
SENSUALITY is largely absent from our lives
– dramatically suppressed in some cultures
and quietly (and effectively) marginalized
in others.
We are not taught sensuality,
not encouraged in it, and are often judged
or punished when we express our sensual nature.
It is often considered wrong, dirty, unholy
and even threatening to the button-down order
of our post-industrial, sanitized society.
Intent on igniting a Sensual
Revolution to rebalance our world and awaken
CREATIVE PLEASURE in our species, driven
to discover the ancient secrets of a sensual
power that can heal our bodies, open our
minds and connect us with the unlimited abundance
of LIFE, a small group of artists, performers,
healers and filmmakers are embarking on a
global expedition in Search of a Sensual
Planet.

• To
discover visionary, creative
and sensually free individuals
/ groups wherever they exist
on the planet, and engage them
in playful collaborative works
that awaken & inspire others
to join our global Revolution
of Sensual Awareness and Free
Expression.
• To define and describe
human sensuality – as distinct
from but closely related to sexuality – in
different genders and modalities,
as well as different cultures
where sensuality is woven into
the fabric of daily life (Bali,
for example).
• To present the glorious sensuality of NATURE – her
colors & textures, forms and movements that weave meaning and
joy into our human lives, exuding a power and subtlety of sensual
expression that we may learn from and harness.
• To express the power of sensual healing, sensual
art, music, voice, dance & movement etc, and explore how ancient & tribal
cultures harness the power of sensuality to promote happiness,
unity and a fuller enjoyment of Life.
• Through public “protest-style” performance
art events, to develop a valid PRESENCE for sensuality in today’s
polarized society, thus supporting all positive expressions of
human sensuality as a force of good for our evolving species.
• To explore, challenge and validate propositions
made by luminary scholar, theologian and author Thomas
Moore, in
his ground-breaking book 'The Soul of Sex'. This includes ancient
mythical, historical, cultural and archetypal representations
of sensuality, sexuality, eroticism and love, and their effect
on current individual, collective and global psyches, minds, bodies
and societies.
Program
Description
• An
exquisitely crafted art-film
style adventure (with satirical
undertones) following sensual
leader Zen Player and his recruits
in their strategic and extemporaneous
efforts to create and launch
a Sensual Revolution of global
proportions. Includes interviews
with rebel sensualists, so-called
sensual experts, high-profile
doctors, authors, gurus, pundits,
and a host of quirky sensual
characters.
• A poignant argument for sensuality contrasted by
stark scenes of ‘common society’ – a society
largely afraid to touch with love and positive healing intention,
to express joy or be seen as a pleasurable being for fear of judgement,
repression, even damnation!
• A global tour (beginning in Australia) to cultures
where sensual projects (including classes & workshops) are
engaged with other visionary and emerging sensualists. Plans include
travel to Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Europe, Hawai, the USA and
other locations in 2007 and 2008.
• A Behind-the-scenes examination of motives, philosophies,
creation of artforms (body-art and other), as well as humorous
tactics employed by Zen and his growing army of sensualists to
infiltrate mass media through film, television, radio, the internet
and other means using viral strategies and guerilla marketing methods.
